Alessandro Di Gloria is a cultural manager and casting professional currently serving as Casting Manager at the Fondazione Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. In this role, he contributes to the development of multi-year artistic planning, coordinating professional relationships with the Music Director, stage directors, guest conductors, and leading international opera houses. He is responsible for the full artist selection process for opera productions, overseeing negotiations with agents and singers while ensuring alignment with the Artistic Director and the General Manager.
From 2022 to 2024, he also acted as Artistic Programming Consultant for the same institution, collaborating closely with the General Manager and Artistic Director on special artistic projects and international relations with artists, agencies, and major opera houses worldwide.
Between 2015 and 2024, he was Head of Opera, Symphony Programming, and Casting at the Fondazione Teatro Massimo in Palermo. There, he led artistic and casting decisions, introducing both emerging talents and internationally acclaimed artists. He worked in close collaboration with the Music Director and guest conductors, programmed opera and symphonic seasons ranging from Italian bel canto to international repertoire, and commissioned contemporary works to broaden and diversify audiences. His responsibilities included season planning and coordination across artistic, technical, and musical departments, production budget management, negotiation and hiring of creative teams, coordination of rehearsals, and the management of co-productions and tours.
He also collaborated with the Teatro Real in Madrid as a Casting Consultant (2019–2020), identifying and evaluating singers for specific roles and preparing detailed, impartial reports during auditions and competitions.
From 2006 to 2014, he was part of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, where he worked closely with the General Manager and Artistic Director in managing artistic activities and relationships with guest artists. His responsibilities included programming productions for young audiences, overseeing related production and administrative processes, managing fundraising relationships with private donors and members, organizing special sponsored events, and coordinating international tours of the orchestra and chorus across Italy, Morocco, Israel, Brazil, Spain, and Turkey. He also supervised box office and promotion departments and developed audience engagement initiatives for under-30 patrons, as well as educational projects in collaboration with the Municipality of Florence.
He holds a Master’s degree in Music and Performing Arts from the University of Palermo, completed a musicology program at the University of Salzburg through the Erasmus Programme, and attended a course in Performing Arts Management at the A. Scarlatti Conservatory in Palermo.
