About Sydney Baedke

Canadian soprano Sydney Baedke has been described as possessing an “impressively rich” and "exquisitely lyric instrument" (London Unattached, The Guardian). Recent roles include Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Mimì and Musetta (La bohème), and Tatyana (Eugene Onegin). She has appeared with The Royal Opera, Pacific Opera Victoria, the Calgary Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall, and the Aldeburgh Festival. A first-prize winner of Edmonton Opera’s Rumbold Vocal Competition, Sydney was recently named an International Opera Awards Foundation career bursary recipient. Her upcoming projects include Liù (Turandot), Contessa Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), and Tzeitel (Fiddler on the Roof) with Orchestre Philharmonique et Choeur des Mélomanes, Opera Kelowna, Edmonton Opera, and Detroit Opera respectively.
