About Dongjun Choi

Daniel Dongjun Choi is a South Korean bass-baritone. He is currently pursuing a postgraduate Concert Examination degree in Vocal Studies at the Hochschule für Musik Trossingen with Prof. Andreas Reibenspies. His previous roles include the Mayor (Rychtář) and Stárek (cover) in Janáček’s Jenůfa and Monterone in Verdi’s Rigoletto at Theater Heidelberg. He also performed the four villains – Lindorf, Coppélius, Dr. Miracle and Dapertutto – in Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann at Cologne Opera. In 2027, he will make his debut as Count Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro at KIT Theater Karlsruhe.
