About Clara Hyoyoung Kim

Clara Kim (Hyoyoung Kim) is a Korean soprano and grand final winner of the 2021 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. She has performed Almirena in Handel’s Rinaldo, Queen of the Night, Pamina, Papagena, Norina, Sandman/Dewman, Branghien, Oberto in Handel’s Alcina, and the First Flower Girl in Wagner’s Parsifal at Oper Frankfurt. Other notable appearances include the title role in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snow Maiden at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl and a staged performance of Handel’s Messiah with the Tapiola Sinfonietta in Finland. She has also appeared in concert with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra and in broadcasts for Bavarian Radio through the International Meistersinger Academy. In Korea, she received the Minister of Culture Award and has won numerous national vocal competitions.
