Soprano Chaeseon Kwak was born in Seoul in 1999. She graduated from Sunhwa Arts High School and completed her studies at the Korea National University of Arts as the top student of her year. She made her operatic debut in Korea as Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte. She subsequently continued her training in Germany, completing a Master’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin in the class of Prof. Anna Korondi. Beginning in the winter semester of 2026/27, she will continue her studies in the Concert Examination programme at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, also in Prof. Anna Korondi’s class. During her studies, she has performed in numerous concerts, including the university’s Excellence Concert and Chamber Music Festival. She made her German role debut as Ilia in Mozart’s Idomeneo in a university production at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler. She also appeared as the First Soprano Soloist in Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang as part of the Werkstattkonzert, a collaboration between the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. Chaeseon Kwak is a scholarship recipient of the Giovanni Omodeo Foundation and the STIBET scholarship programme. She was also awarded a special prize at the 18th International Vocal Competition Gabriela Beňačková.
