Born in Saint Petersburg into a musical family, Sofia was immersed in the world of classical music from an early age. She studied piano at the Saint Petersburg Music Lyceum. After graduating from Saint Petersburg State University with a rare combination of three specializations—history, English linguistics, and Italian translation—she transformed her lifelong passion for opera into a professional calling.
Since 2010, Sofia has produced opera productions and concert projects across Russia, Asia, and Europe, collaborating with internationally acclaimed artists such as Vladimir Galouzine, Maria Guleghina, Olesya Petrova, Yuri Temirkanov, among many others. In the 2018/19 season, she served as Casting Director of the Tinkoff Arena concert hall.
Since 2021/22 season, she has been an opera agent with TACT Artists Management. In the 2026/27 season, the artists represented by Sofia Rukin will appear on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan Opera, Paris Philharmonie, Carnegie Hall, Covent Garden, Zurich Opera, Staatsoper Hamburg, Opera di Roma, to name a few.
