The Puccini Festival Foundation is holding training and higher education courses for opera singers and corépétiteurs in 2021 through its own Academy. The aim is to promote the training of interpreters of Puccini’s repertoire and provide them with thorough musical and dramaturgical preparation. Up to 15 opera singers and 4 corépétiteurs will be admitted to the courses, which will be led by Clarry Bartha. Ms Bartha will be actively assisted by Massimo Iannone (vocal and interpretative technique) and Silvia Gasperini (score study).
Masterclasses will be given by Renata Scotto (vocal interpretation), Cesare Scarton (diction and stage art) and Marco Voleri (roles and functions of supporting actors in the operas of Giacomo Puccini and Pietro Mascagni). Guest lecturers at the Academy will be Giorgio Battistelli, Artistic Director of the Puccini Festival, and Musical Director Alberto Veronesi as well as directors and performers at the 67th Puccini Festival.
